I have learned a little more than I thought I would. I went into this project with the thought that I knew pretty much everything that I wanted to do. I first started out with one of the questions on my brainstorming paper, "the health effects of soft drinks" . There can be no sides to that. After just an hour of researching, I found nothing but bad effects. There is nothing to argue, soda is bad for the human body, and that's that. It may taste great, but that is the extent.
I then thought about what I like to do as far as health goes, and I am not a healthy guy. I eat a lot of fast food. I drink 12 packs of canned soda every week, not counting the drinks I get at Crown and RDH. One thing I do do that's healthy is run. I have been running consistently since before I started running track in high school. I changed my topic from soda to the benefits of running. I found out a lot of things that I didn't know, and I also learned about the possible bad side effects from running; unhealthy addictions and injury prone. While no side effect could ever truly stop me from running, it is nice to have my eyes opened. It is good to know the possibilities of what could happen to me when I am out there, running for many miles, every day.
Reading and researching about running also opened my eyes to how much I actually love the activity. When I was on the team, that was my one dedication . I loved running and running loved me back. After I graduated and started working full time, I made time to get away from the TV and computer to get out there and have a few miles done. Even now, with a busy college schedule, I find time to get out there and run around campus often. Besides health benefits like , looking tone, running gives me peace of mind like nothing else in this world. I feel better about myself, I feel better as a human, I feel healthy, even though I may not be. I love it.

1. My audience is mainly composed of dedicated runners, whether they run casually or competitively, sprinters and long-distance runners alike. My audience can also be composed of people who are contemplating on whether they should run more, or longer, and athletes who are on their legs for the duration of their sport. Most of the same rules apply when you are on feet.
Running is a timeless activity. Humans have been running since their existence, and they will continue to run. It is a innate ability for survival. It is arguably one of the most efficient ways to exercise, and it has a number of benefits that come alone with it. People run as kids, adults, and as elders so i think the topic is pretty relevant.
I am invested in this topic because running is such a relevant activity. Everyone does it at some point in their life, unless they are disabled. I was a track and field athlete for 5 years, and I still continue to run on a daily basis even now. I think high school teachers ask for objective writing out of us to help us get the big picture of topics before we start writing. If not, we will get very biased in our writing, without finding any opposition. It is very unprofessional to write that way. College professors now care because us as students have that base to work from. We know that we are supposed to find the big picture. We know we are supposed to find opposing arguments. They want us to care now because this is the age that people are most passionate about their thoughts and ideas. Us as students like to argue, and we want people to argue with us. Better papers and essays are created this way.
2. I am indeed starting to see multiple viewpoints about my topic. I never really considered there to be a downside to running. It is simple but it is healthy. The bad thing is, if you long distance run, there can be some mental, anxiety problems that come out of it. There is also the high risk of injury if you do any type of serious running. All running athletes are bound to have an injury some time in their running career. I can vouch for this, seeing as for 3 out of 4 seasons in high school, I had serious injuries, from simple shin splints to a pulled hamstring. It leads me to the question, "Is running really the best form of exercise? " I mean , sure there are a wide amount of benefits, but if you are going to get injured so that you aren't able to reap them, is it really worth it? I guess it's up to the individual and how serious they are about being healthy and in shape.
3. I learned the downside of running. That there are possible mental problems associated with it, Like bad addictive qualities. I learned that researching one topic can lead to the research of bigger topics and viewpoints, opening your eyes to things you were ignorant of before. It is a good thing.

Blog Post 2
The most interesting source I have found so far is a list of quotes from doctors and health experts about the many destructive effects of drinking soft drinks. It is a web source, but seeing as the quotes are from a majority of books, it may be interesting trying to cite this source. The title is "The Health Effects of Soda". There are multiple authors because there are many quotes. It is interesting because there wasn't anything good to be said about soda. Everything I read was about a destructive effect. It made my heart rate rise. I am soda addict. I can drink a can of soda in about 6 seconds, and I can clear out a tower(12 cans) of soda in a day, by myself. Last year, I drunk either a 2 liter of mountain dew a day, or a tower every other day. No breaks So this was a pretty big eye opener for me. This source shows the outcomes of various studies, that I will have to try and verify myself. I'd hate to believe that drinking soda is as bas as all of these people are making it out to be, seeing as I drink a fairly large amount of it.
My question hasn't changed much. I may end up trying to see if I can narrow it down a bit, if I find that it is too broad. In my research, I'm not finding much of an other side to the argument. I am just finding things about the destructive effects. When I write my paper, I'd hope to have found something to go against my argument so that it doesn't sound one-sided and uneducated.
